Topic: Welcome New Members - Orchids 101: An Orchid Primer

This meeting is all about newbies - we're welcoming new members and anyone else who is starting their orchid adventure!  If you have friends or family who are interested in growing, please bring them along. The more the merrier!

The meeting will start with Orchids 101: An Orchid Primer - a short presentation on the major orchid types and their culture. Following this we're going hands-on ... last year there was a lot of interest in repotting and troubleshooting, so we'll be pulling plants out of pots!  If you have orchids that need repotting, please bring them along ... the club will supply the materials and our members will provide the expertise. Everyone is encouraged to participate! We have a lot of great growers in our Society, so please attend and share your knowledge. 

Also - if you have flowering plants that aren't heading to the Vancouver show, please bring them for our Display Table. Nothing inspires like a real plant in glorious bloom!  

Doors open at 11:00 with a brief business meeting starting at 11:15 pm.

Whether you're a beginner or expert orchid grower, bring your questions. You will find our members very friendly and knowledgeable.
